Born and bred in Nova Scotia, James Leck has worked as a teacher in Canada, Japan and Kuwait. In writing, The Adventures of Jack Lime, James was influenced by the detective novels of the forties and fifties. This is the first book in a series of YA mysteries starring his hardboiled teenage detective, Jack Lime.

Since the book's publication, James has been taking time to run Writer's Workshops for aspiring authors, both young and old. He’s had the pleasure of working with groups in Ottawa, Toronto, Kuwait City and Halifax.
